This section is intended as a mini-tutorial on the different elements of a website. These are not necessarily the steps to take to build a website. Those are explained elsewhere in this site. But these are presented here so we may talk the same language when you contact us.
Basic Website Look and Feel
The picture below shows a website (like this one) and points to the Web Banner, the Page Banner and the Navigation Bars. Another very important element is the Company Logo (which would take the place of the phone keyboard picture on the top left of the picture below. Along with the choice of colors, these elements will determine the look and feel of your website. These should coincide with the colors of your company's current literature and advertising so it has a recognizable appearance.
Once the general look and feel of the website has been chosen, you should decide on the types of pages you want to have (News page, Calendar, FAQ, Contact page, Products, Services, Special offers, Bulletin Boards, etc).
The next big decision will involve the Navigation Structure. This will determine to a certain extent how successful a business may be in conveying information to the site visitors. This is part of the "experience" that site visitors will have and can make or break your site.
Navigation Structure
Think of this as the flow of information in your site
. Navigation Bars
A navigation bar is a set of hyperlinks used for navigating a Web site. You should display a navigation bar on every page in your web so that your site visitors can always get to the web's main pages, quickly and easily. Before deciding on your Navigation Bars, you need to set up a Navigation Structure of your web first.
Other Elements will include Banners, Headers, Buttons, Bullets, Logos, Advertising Banners, etc. See some samples under "Logos/Banners"
